Luke 1:26-28

The Birth of Jesus Foretold

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.”

Prayer

Father God, creator of everything seen and unseen. You entered our darkness in the form of a child. May we open our hearts to your love and recognise the simplicity of your word and follow you. Help me to see the child-like qualities in my life and accept you as part of my story. The story that is not locked in time, but is as real today as it was in the beginning. Amen.
