Christians in Saltburn & Skelton

This website is a personal project of Rev. Geoff Bland, a retired Baptist minister now living in Skelton, with many thanks to John Pearson of Doorways Youth Project in Saltburn for his technical help.

(For details about Doorways: http://www.door-ways.co.uk & https://john61669.wixsite.com/bigquestion).

If you have questions about anything on this website or anything about the Christian faith, you are welcome to contact Geoff by email geoffinskelton@gmail.com or by phone/text 07432 654567.

Geoff became a Christian as a teenager through reading John’s Gospel. This gospel, says John, was written, “so that you (the reader) might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31).

If you would like a free copy of this gospel, contact Geoff and he will be pleased to send one to you.

Why is he doing this website? Two particular reasons:

  1. Many people have given up on church but are still open to finding out about God. And God is very definitely open to finding them! Hopefully, the content on this website provides not just helpful information about the Christian faith but is a means of stirring up a growing personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

  2. God hasn’t given up on church either – it’s made up of his children, his family. The different ways that churches do things are not important to God, and shouldn’t matter that much to us either. We are called to live in love and unity with all who follow Christ as their Lord and Saviour. So the hope for this website is that it will benefit all the churches of Skelton, Brotton and the surrounding area.

Here are a few websites and apps which are particularly helpful resources:

YouVersion is a great free Bible app. Different Bible versions can be downloaded to your device, available for off-line use. Use the ‘book’ icon at the top left to find and read different Bible passages.

It can also be downloaded to use on a computer www.bible.com/en-GB

Bible Gateway is also available as a mobile app but is particularly good for online use.

www.biblegateway.com  Easy to search for Bible words and passages, in many different versions.

www.christianity.org.uk is an excellent resource for finding out more about what Christians believe.
